Armed police guarding Downing Street are being investigated over allegations they shared hardcore porn on their mobile phones while on duty.
Three officers from the Met's Diplomatic Protection Group have been arrested on suspicion of possessing and distributing images "of an extreme sexual nature".
Their homes were raided in December and one was suspended.
Two others remain at work on restricted duties.
A fourth was interviewed but not arrested.
The 700-strong DPG is the unit at the centre of the "Plebgate" affair which led to the resignation of Andrew Mitchell as the Government's Chief Whip.
The obscene images are understood to have been discovered as part of the Operation Alice probe into the row.

Met Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has apologised over the Plebgate affair and PC Keith Wallis was this week jailed for a year for fabricating a witness account in which he claimed Mr Mitchell called DPG officers "plebs" outside Downing Street in 2012.
A Met spokesman said last night: "The images identified by the investigation are of an extreme sexual nature, but do not involve children.
"We have voluntarily referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which instructed that it should be investigated locally."
