Stop insulting Jonathan, wife – PDP warns Amaechi
Chairman of the PDP in the state, Hon. Felix Obuah, who handed this warning while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt on Saturday, also said the governor should desist from dragging the names of Jonathan and his wife to the mud.
Obuah said, “This untoward attitude of Amaechi which has become his tradition with no other aim than to lower the reputation and personality of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and son of the Niger Delta in the estimation of the right thinking members of the society, has continued to be fired and given undue impetus by Governor Amaechi and a few of his friends on this satanic mission against all wise counsel and good conscience.
“Just yesterday (Friday), while appearing before the National Human Rights Commission in Abuja, Amaechi, rather than address the questions put to him, veered off to accuse the wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan of influencing the transfer of the former Commissioner of Police in the state, to pave way for the present Commissioner, Mbu Joseph Mbu.”
The party Chairman also apologised to the President and his wife over the action, and pledged the continued loyalty and support of the people of the state to the Jonathan-led federal government.
He said, “The PDP in Rivers State by this medium also wishes to apologise on behalf of the good people of Rivers State, that President Goodluck Jonathan still has our high regard and honour and can count on our unflinching support anytime, any day, notwithstanding the lone dissident voice of a drowning Governor.”
