5 women arraigned in court over alleged prostitution, remanded in prison
Five suspected commercial sex workers were remanded in Ikoyi prisons by an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, after pleading guilty to loitering and soliciting for the purpose of prostitution.
Pending a review of the facts and sentencing, they were remanded in prison by Magistrate Ikubeinje.
The accused are Olaide Oshilaja, 25; Vivian Osagie, 26; Regina Dickson, 27; Doris Okoh, 23; and Rose Alome, 29.

The accused, whose addresses are unknown, are standing trial on a charge of behaving in a disorderly or indecent manner in a public place around Obalende area of Lagos.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 6, at Obalende area of Lagos.
He said: “The accused were found loitering at different areas of Obalende, Lagos, soliciting for the purpose of prostitution.”
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case till October 8 for facts and sentencing.
