Jessie J: I've been sober for a year
Jessie J claims she hasn't touched alcohol since October 15, 2012, and while she doesn't miss drinking, she admits it has cost her the chance to meet new friends.
Jessie J has been sober for a year.
The 25-year-old singer claims the last time she touched alcohol was on October 15, 2012, but she doesn't miss going out and getting drunk because being tee-total has left her with a ''cleaner'' mind.
She said: ''I haven't had any alcohol for a year - October 15 last year was the last time I had a drink.
''It has made a difference. Honestly, I think when you live cleaner, your mind is cleaner.''
However, the 'It's My Party' hitmaker's change in lifestyle has cost her the opportunity to meet new friends because she doesn't go out as much as she used to.
She explained: ''Not drinking hasn't been too tough on my social life and going out, as I don't have many friends.
''I mean that in a positive way. I have the friends I need and that's it. And they fit in my life.''
Some of the money Jessie has saved by not drinking has gone on new clothes after she started styling herself because she was sick of borrowing outfits and only being allowed to wear them once before giving them back.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''Styling myself hasn't saved me loads of money at all, because I don't get lent stuff any more.
''I have to buy it myself now. But I do get to keep it, which is great. For example, I used to hate it when I got to wear an amazing coat just the once.
