Rivers PDP queries Amaechi’s salary deduction policy

GOV. AMAECHI WELCOMES PRESIDENT JONATHAN IN PORT HARCOURTThe Felix Obuah-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State says it can no longer keep quiet over the cries and lamentations of hundreds of thousand civil servants in the state whose salaries have been allegedly slashed by the state government every month.
The party in a statement issued and signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to the State Party Chairman said it had observed that civil servants in the state were going through “untold hardship inflicted on these helpless government workers, using the baseless state social services law as a cover”.
PDP accused Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of using the arbitrary salary deductions as a ploy to pull enough resources for his highly speculated 2015 Vice Presidential ambition.
The party also described as unfair Amaechi’s insensitivity and unconcerned attitude to the cries of the workers.

Januzaj turns down chance to play for Belgium

JanuzajManchester United wonderkid Adnan Januzaj, has turned down the opportunity to represent Belgium at international level.
Coach of the Belgian national team, Marc Wilmots, made the first move to win the battle for the 18-year-old’s services and named him in the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games against Wales and Croatia.
However, the teenager quickly rejected the chance and conveyed the message via the Premier League club. It is understood that Januzaj would rather play for Kosovo, who are yet to get UEFA membership, but Wilmots admitted he will try again for the winger.
“This was the first time I have tried to include him in a squad, because I wanted to send him a clear message,” he said. “Unfortunately, I had a very quick response from England, when Manchester United called me to say the player felt he was not ready to make a choice about his international future.
“I respect his stance. Every player has the right to make his own choice, and I will not attempt to make any sort of ultimatum to him. But I do intend meeting Adnan and his entourage to find out for myself exactly what their thoughts are. You cannot force a player to choose a country. It has to come from his heart.
“Clearly, when you have a player of his technique and ability, the door to the national team always stays open.”

Anambra guber: Ezeemo’s aide escapes assassination...

Anambra’s politics got deadlier Sunday with an attempted assassination on the Media Director of Godwin Ezeemo campaign organization, Mr Okey Nwoke.
Nwoke was attacked by gun wielding young men who he said numbered about six and drove in two cars- an SUV and a Toyota Camry car which sandwiched him at Igbo Ukwu as he drove to his principal’s (Ezeemo’s) house at about 8am.
Nwoke who escaped unhurt had his silver coloured Toyota car riddled with bullets, and still looked badly shaken as he addressed journalists at the home of Mr Godwin Ezeemo.
Narrating his story to journalists, Nwoke said, “I left my home in Enugwu Adazi in Anaocha Local Government Area for Mr Ezeemo’s place as we had a scheduled meeting today, and all the directors of Ezeemo campaign were supposed to meet in his house.
“As I drove through Igboukwu, I noticed a Toyota Camry car painted in ash colour following me. I did not suspect anything until I noticed another jeep in front of me which was not speeding as it should. It was when I made to overtake it that the jeep blocked me, and before I could realize it, the two back doors of the car were open and two boys carrying AK 47 riffles stepped out and aimed at me”.
Nwoke continued that immediately he sensed danger, seeing that they had blocked his way, engaged his gear in reverse and waited to see their reaction.

"Everything we are doing with God is by a privileged grace. Several people have changed locations, blamed conditions and a lot of people have concluded they are write-offs in Gods heart. But, right where you are, several doors shut against destinies of people in this forum shall be opened because you cannot hear these words daily without making an impact in your generation. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Welcome to the week of spiritual re branding"
