A Bismarck middle school teacher has been charged with having sex with a 15-year-old student, and she could face up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.
Susan Duursma, 34, was charged Monday with three counts of corrupting or soliciting a minor.
Her attorney, Tom Dickson, told The Associated Press that she will plead not guilty.
Duursma, a physical education teacher at Wachter Middle School, is accused of a sex act with a 15-year-old boy three times between March and July, including once at her home and twice in a vehicle, according to KXMB-TV.
“There’s always two sides to every story; sometimes these situations are a little more complicated than they might appear initially,” Dickson told the AP. “Susan will get her opportunity to explain her side of what happened.”
South Central District Judge David Reich set Durusma’s bond at $1,000 and stipulated that she not have contact with any minors other than her own child. He didn’t set her next court date.
Bismarck Superintendent Tamara Uselman told The Bismarck Tribune that she received a complaint about Duursma late Thursday, concluded it had merit and forwarded the information to police on Friday. The school district has put Duursma on administrative leave while officials decide what to do.
This was Duursma’s seventh year with the Bismarck schools. Her file has no previous complaints or concerns, Lisa Kudelka, the human resources manager for Bismarck schools, told the Tribune.

An 18-year-old girl, Chinyere Onorfue, was in a hotel room in Benin City, capital of Edo state,
Chinyere who allegedly checked into the hotel, with one Emmanuel Ajayi, on 19 August, was discovered dead in the room at about 8 pm of the same date, with her throat slashed.
Investigations by operatives of the Edo state police command led to the arrest of Emmanuel Ajayi and another suspect who were allegedly found in the hotel room, with the girl’s mobile phone in their possession. They were paraded before journalists in Benin.
Also paraded by the state commissioner of police, Foluso Adebanjo, were 20 suspects who allegedly gang raped their victims at different locations in Benin.
Amongst them were Emmanuel Okoro, Lucky Ighodaro, Moses Israel and Osakpamwan Ameye, who allegedly dragged their 20-year-old victim (names withheld) into an uncompleted building at Evboutubu area of Benin at about 10 pm and gange-raped her.
In yet another incident, Sunday Erico andOsifo Okumabo along with four others now at large, allegedly forced their 17-year-old victim into the back of their compound where they serially raped her.
Mr. Adebanjo disclosed to journalists that 44 suspected criminals were arrested bythe police in the state over alleged involvement in various criminal activities in the past few weeks, 26 of whom were paraded.
The police commissioner further disclosed that 10 of the suspects were already being prosecuted, including one James Farmer who was alleged to have been part of a gang that kidnapped a politician in the state along Emaking Junction, Irrua, Edo state where they allegedly attacked two prison officers and shot one dead while they went away with their rifle.
He called on residents in the state to be very cautious as the yuletide draws near and report suspicious persons and activities to the police.
“The war against crime and criminality is being waged relentlessly here in Edo state and I want to let the members of the public know that this is the ember months and everybody has to be security conscious. This is the time criminals want to reap where they did not sow. The people must be security conscious, they should know their neighbourhood very well and promptly report suspicious movements.
“We will continue to do our best but we want to cooperation of members of the pubic because we can’t do it alone, we need the collaboration of everybody in Edo state to fight crime and criminality in the state. As you can see, there have not been any case of kidnapping in the past one week plus, we want to sustain and we can only do with the cooperation of the members of the public,” Adebanjo said.
He noted that the recent stakeholders meeting the command organised few days ago was already yielding results as “people are calling us, giving us information. It is always good to work with the public, the police is part of the public and the public is part of the police.”

BlackBerry suspends release of BBM for Android and iOS

According to a BlackBerry blog post, the unreleased app "caused issues", that the company has been trying to resolve. The Android app has now been disabled, but customers who downloaded the BBM for iPhone app will still be able to use BBM.
"Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM," said BlackBerry's Luke Reimer. "As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone."
Although BlackBerry did not elaborate on the cause of these "issues", security expert Graham Cluley suggested that BlackBerry may not have been able to cope with the spike of activity hitting its servers.
"What seems, in part, to have tripped up BlackBerry is the poorly-policed free-and-easy Google Play Android app store, where multiple BBM apps, posing as official releases, appeared," he said.
"Most Android users assume that if an app is in the official Google Play store, it must be official and safe to install on their phone. The truth, sadly, is rather different."
Reimer noted that more than 1.1 million active users downloaded the BBM for Android app – albeit the unofficial version – in the first 8 hours after launch, indicating that demand for the Blackberry instant messaging service on other mobile platforms is high.
However, the decision to pull the app is likely to knock consumer confidence in the platform, with users not knowing how long the service will be available for.
The news follows BlackBerry's announcement last week it will be laying off 40 percent of its global workforce – around 4,500 positions – and reporting losses of nearly $1 billion at its second quarter results later this month.
The announcement will include a mammoth writedown of up to $960m, partly down to unsold handsets, and a $72m charge for restructuring.

Photos: British Muslim Woman Suspected to be Behind The Kenyan Mall Massacre

Last night, as the bodies were still being counted at the Kenyan shopping mall, Kenyan anti-terror police have revealed that a 29 years old lady Samantha Lewthwaite- who is known to many as the White Widow - may be the brains behind the operation to bring terror to the heart of Kenya.

This is coming as survivors have described how a woman in a veil appeared to be commanding the
other terrorists as they hunted down and killed non-Muslim shoppers.

Samantha Lewthwaite, the daughter of a former British soldier grew up as a normal teenager in Aylesbury before meeting Jermaine Lindsay, a British Muslim, in an online chat room when she was 17.
The pair married three years later and  views these awful killings as a cause for jubilation.

Having converted to Islam as a young woman and married a man who went on to be a 7/7 London suicide bomber, she has become a key figure in the terror group behind this weekend’s attack.

When her husband was named as one of four suicide bombers who blew up Tube trains and a bus in 2005, killing 52 people, Lewthwaite initially condemned her late husband’s attack and denied any knowledge of his plan.
More than eight years later, Lewthwaite is one of Al Qaeda’s main recruiters in East Africa and is an official spokesman for Al Shabaab (The People), the terrorist group behind the horror in Nairobi

Known to her devoted followers as dada muzungu – Swahili for white sister – Lewthwaite moved to Kenya with her three children in 2007.
Lewthwaite has even been involved in training a group of all-female suicide attackers at camps in lawless neighbouring Somalia.
