Ritualists Arrested In Niger With Human Head

WHEN three young farmers of Gwari extraction in Niger state conspired to source for human head in their neighbourhood for money-making rituals purposes, hardly did it occur to them that the long arm of the law might soon catch up with them.
The  three suspects, whose names were given as Saleh  Ibrahim (35), Usman Lashi Sarki (30) and Dantala Doma, a.k.a. Operator, (25) years had conspired with other people which included a Fulani man simply identified as Gajere, now at large, who had allegedly given them a dried human skull to go and grind.
It was further learnt that another unidentified PHCN employee who is also on the run had promised to get the three suspects mercury to accomplish their aim.
Nemesis however caught up with them on Monday August 26, few hours after Ibrahim lured a 10-year-old boy, Ishaya Segi, from his father’s farm at Amale village in Shiroro Local Government of the state, put him on his motorcycle and abducted him to Lashi village, also within the council area where his two other accomplices were waiting for him.
Saleh was said to have urged the boy to accompany him to his friend’s place in the neighbourhood, after which he would bring him back to the same spot where he had picked him. The victim was said to have followed Saleh, unknown to him that he would never return alive.
A police source at the homicide section of the Criminal Investigation Department, Minna  informed Crime Reports that no sooner was the victim brought to Lashi village than the third suspect, Doma, brought out a very sharp cutlass and cut off the head. The head was removed from his body by Sarki who is said to be a son to the late village head of Lashi.
The source added that during interrogation, Sarki confessed that he was contracted to bring the 10-year-old boy’s head by Gajere for money-making ritual.
It was further learnt that during police investigation, the boy’s head was traced to Saleh’s residence of Saleh while he later took the police to two other accomplices. The police were taken near river Erena in Shiroro Local Government Area of the state where the headless body of the boy was buried in a shallow grave.
According to Saleh, he initially resisted when Sarki informed him that one Gajere contacted him to bring a head of the little boy, but after convincing him, he decided to go out in search of a boy.
Efforts towards apprehending Gajere who contacted the three suspects for the job had not yielded any result as at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Richard Adamu Oguche, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said investigation into the matter had since commenced, after which the three suspects would be arraigned in court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution on charges of conspiracy and culpable homicide.
He revealed that the command directed all police outposts within Kaffin-Koro Division and the DPO in Kaffin-Koro to reach out to the community leaders in the area to know if there was a reported case of missing child, an effort which yielded result on Friday 30 August 2013, when an Amale village-based farmer, Pa Segi Gayaga appeared at the state’s police headquarters to identify the 10-year-old victim as his son.

I sold pure water to survive in Lagos-Chuddy K

What has Chuddy K been up to recently?
I’ve been working with both my management team in setting up Kent records and also making good music.
It seems you relaxed a little after the release of ‘gaga Crazy’ and ‘Brazilian hair’. Was it because they were doing well in the market?
I would beg to differ because I was actually on various international tours promoting those songs.
Having had many popular songs, which would you say really gave you prominence?
I would say ‘Slow Slow’. The song enjoyed huge acceptance across the length and breadth of the continent and for this I am eternally grateful to my many fans across Africa and the rest of the world.
What was the inspiration behind the song?
It’s more like your typical boy loves girl and the feeling is not mutual and the boy is suffering and confused. I’m sure we’ve all experienced this (laughs).
Now that you are one of the artistes that Nigerians look up to for good music, how do you intend to keep your fans satisfied?
I intend to do this fully by continuing to meet their demand for good music, I’ve got massive tunes that will be dropping soon under Kent records.
Critics thought you were only good at singing slow R n B songs until you came out with Gaga Crazy. Why did you decide to change genres?
Good music is from the soul which I believe has no genre. I also decided to try something different, which was a huge success.
‘Gaga Crazy’ was really accepted across the continent and beyond. How did you come about the title of the song?
It’s what you want to do when you are really having a good time at the club after a long week on a Friday, you just want to let loose, unwind and go ‘gaga’. It’s crazy in here, ‘gaga crazy’.
Your videos are always very colourful. Who are the brains behind them?
Just myself and the video production team. I am glad to have people who understand the concepts of whatever I want to do.
A lot of people compare you and Wande Coal…What is your take on this?
Not much, it’s expected. After all, we were both in the same Acapella group called ‘Salvation boiz’ and a lot of people say we sound alike.
What type of music does Chuddy K do?
Good music
What were your greatest musical influences growing up?
Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Usher.
What differentiates you from every other Nigerian act?
There is only one Chuddy K.
What challenges have you faced in your craft and how do you intend to overcome them and become one of the most sought after artistes in Nigeria?
What I intend to do is to simply continue making and effectively promoting my music so that I can meet the demand of my fans and together with my team here at Kent records, all I can say is that my fans should get ready.
What is your take on the recent endorsements of your colleagues in the industry?
I love making good music and that’s my major focus.
Critics say these endorsements may discourage the upcoming artistes as the sudden wealth may make the endorsed artistes snub their yet-to-be endorsed artistes. Could this be true?
I don’t think this is true, as having an endorsement means that you are more talented or you make better music. This shouldn’t discourage anyone because as long as you keep making your music, opportunities will continue to open up to you.
What plans do you have for your fans this year?
To get them dancing and chanting my name
Being a ladies’ man, how have you been able to steer clear from scandals?
Na God o, because man proposes and he disposes
Is Chuddy K single?
I am in a relationship
What is your ideal kind of woman?
A home maker who is confident in herself
What’s your normal day like?
Chilling with friends, listening to good music and playing fifa 13 on ps3
Tell us something no one knows about you.
Hmm, I once sold pure water on the streets of Lagos
What would you have been if not an artiste?
A footballer

"There are a lot of you that are talented, gifted and with powerful skills but are not functioning well because of their environment. Your help does not come from Abroad but from Above. For you in this forum. You must start believing and forgetting what other people expect from you. Your focus and prayers should be 'I don’t know where I’m going, but I know that He is holding my hand, and I’m going to trust him. And I’m going to be honest in my relationship with Him." May you experience a supernatural turnaround in Jesus name"

Mourinho happy to help

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho takes his team to Everton this evening insisting he wants to help mould a bright new future for English football.

Jose Mourinho: Willing to help the England national team

Mourinho is willing to sit down with Football Association chairman Greg Dyke in the coming months to lend his experience to the task of tackling the problems inherent in the domestic game.
Asked if he cared about the England team, Mourinho said: "I care, I care. I want my players to be selected, to give everything for the national team. I would never say to a player with a small injury don't go, stay here, forget the national team.
"When the telephone rings and it is somebody connected with the national team I pick up the phone with pleasure. I want to help my academy. I want to support them. I want to give my little contribution to improve everything there to try to bring English players to the top. I care, I care a lot.
"The only match I want England to lose is England v Portugal. All the other matches I want them to succeed. I have three players there at the time but if I can have four, five or six I would like to have four five or six."
Asked if he would be happy to sit down with Dyke to help the English cause, Mourinho added: "More than happy."
His immediate concern, however, is three points at Goodison where new signing Samuel Eto'o, signed for £7.5million from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, is set to get his Chelsea debut.
Mourinho believes Eto'o will give his team the perfect balance of youth and experience.
Mourinho, who also admitted Arsenal were serious title contenders after signing his former Real Madrid player Mesut Ozil, said: "Samuel is a player adapted to the style of play we want in our team.
"We are not any more a physical, direct team. We want to use the qualities of our attacking players in a different way.
"He knows exactly the kind of movement he has to do to give continuity to the attacking game. He has a natural appetite for goals and he will score a few goals for us and he will give us experience.
"Everybody is very young, for example against Bayern Munich (in the Super Cup) Andre Schurrle, Oscar and Eden Hazard were all under 22."
Mourinho insisted that it was imperative to have three main strikers at his disposal and Eto'o takes his place along with Fernando Torres and Demba Ba in the squad for Everton.

Chelsea's new signing Samuel Eto'o says he almost signed for Arsenal in 2000, but has no regrets over turning them down.

Eto'o was looking to leave Real Madrid at the time after failing to get enough chances to impress at the Bernabeu, and had already been loaned out to Leganes and Espanyol.
The Cameroon international was still just a teenager, but then Mallorca boss Luis Aragones showed faith in the young striker and managed to lure him to Son Moix just when Arsene Wenger was poised to snap him up instead.
"I met Luis at a crucial moment in my life where I had to take the right direction - and thanks to him I did," Eto'o told The Sun.
"I was about to sign that very afternoon at Arsenal and maybe I would have never been the player I am today.
"Luis picked me, then I ended up joining Barcelona. That decision changed everything."
Eto'o initially signed for Mallorca on loan and after scoring six goals in 19 La Liga appearances, he made a permanent club-record £4.4million switch in the summer of 2000.
After winning the Copa del Rey in 2003, he signed for Barcelona the following year and landed two Champions League titles with the Catalan club before repeating the achievement with his next club Inter Milan.
The four-time African Player of the Year now finds himself in the Chelsea ranks after his summer switch from Anzhi Makhachkala and is set to make his debut in the Saturday Night Football encounter at Everton in the Premier League.
Eto'o added: "I had lots of opportunities to come to England, but I am glad to finally be here now."

Samuel Eto'o says hate of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho turned to love

Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o has revealed that his close relationship with manager Jose Mourinho began with the two men hating each other.
The 32-year-old says the Portuguese was a key factor in his move to Chelsea after the pair combined to win the 2010 Champions League at Inter Milan.
But he told BBC Sport that they did not always get on so well.

"The relationship I have with Jose is something really interesting," he told Football Focus.
"At the start it was based on hate but that gradually grew into love."
Eto'o has signed a one-year deal with Chelsea, having moved from Russian Premier League team Anzhi Makhachkala on a free transfer.
The four-time African Footballer of the Year became the highest-paid player in the world when he moved to Anzhi in 2011, but has taken a £10m paycut in his annual salary, from £17m to £7m, to join the Stamford Bridge club.
Speaking at the launch of the first of nine graphic novels about his life, Eto'o said he was looking forward to working with Mourinho again, even if they had several run-ins during their time at Inter.
"I remember a game when we were fighting and we said some terrible things to each other," Eto'o said. "We both regretted it afterwards. But I like him because he talks through problems, he handles things like a man. Those are qualities I like. Every time I have the chance to work with him, I will seize the opportunity."
Eto'o went on to say that it was the Chelsea manager's straight-talking that set him apart.

"Jose is more than a coach to me. He is a man who talks the language of truth," he said.
"It is really important to have someone who tells the truth all the time. In our business sometimes we have people who don't."
The Cameroon striker claimed he had not expected to leave Russia this summer, despite the club's billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov selling off his biggest earners to significantly reduce the club's budget.
Eto'o said it was a phone call from Mourinho that changed his plans.
"I was feeling good in Russia, but then I got the phone call from Jose Mourinho asking me to come here," he said. "I thought it was another exciting chapter for me and I am really glad to be here. Chelsea is a fantastic club."
Eto'o started his career at Real Madrid but was loaned out to Leganes and Real Mallorca before making a permanent move to Mallorca in 1999. The striker, part of the Cameroon team that lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 2002, won the Copa del Rey before joining Barcelona in 2004.
During his time at the Nou Camp, he won the Champions League twice - in 2006 and 2009 - scoring in both finals, as well as winning the Spanish league three times.
In 2009, Barcelona paid Inter £40m plus Eto'o for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the striker went on to win the Champions League again in his first season under Mourinho at San Siro.
