Enobmhe Emmanuel Peter, One of the 24 suspected drug dealers deported with Nigerian Anthony Chinedu in June Which almost raised an issue between Nigeria and Kenya’s Government, has been arrested in Nairobi, three weeks after he sneaked back into Kenya. He was caught last week Friday in a rented apartment at Greenfield Apartments in Nairobi’s Donholm estate where police found 425 sachets of a white substance suspected to be heroin with a street value of Sh32,000.
A Kenyan woman, Virginia Wakini, Was also arrested from the same house.”We did not know that Peter had sneaked back to the country and were shocked to find him in the house when we conducted a raid to search for drugs,” one of the officers involved in the raid said.
He had been handed over to Kenya’s Anti-narcotic investigators for investigations. And was charge to court and appeared in Court On Monday 16th September 2013. The suspect has since told police that he entered Kenya through ‘panya routes’ on the Kenya–Tanzania border on August 10,” he said.
Other police sources said the Nigerian came back because his Kenyan wife had called him while he was in Nigeria and told him that she was sick. He did not state whether Wakini is his wife. Wakini is expected in court also to answer to charges of drug trafficking and harboring a criminal. Peter will be charged with being in Kenya illegally.
Police found the Nigerian with a new passport that has no immigration stamp to show which border points he entered the country through. Kenyan immigration officers stamped “PI” on Peter’s previous passport, meaning “Prohibited Immigrant”.
Head of Narcotics police unit Hamisi Masaa said preliminary tests by the police revealed that the drugs found in the house was heroine.
