One-legged robber arrested in Delta State

A 21-year-old disabled armed robbery suspect, John Okue, has been by the Delta state police command in a hair saloon in Okwashi-Uku, following a tip off.
The disabled , who lost one leg to a virus, led the gang of other brutal robbers whose ages ranged from about 17 to 25 years.
okue-and-other-gang-members
Together, they were said to have robbed, killed and raped their female victims with impunity.
The gang was said to be highly connected to top police officers in the state. Consequently, when any member of the gang was arrested and detained, his freedom was often obtained.
It was reliably gathered that at a point when the police wanted to apprehend him in his home in Kwale, he escaped while he disguised as a begger. The police officers detailed to track him down saw him but never knew he was the suspect they were looking for.
This cat and mouse game between the police and the armed robbery suspect continued for several weeks as he became elusive until recently when the gang leader was apprehended in a barbing saloon at Ogwashi-Uku following a tip-off.
Police sources said confessional statement by the gang leader led to the arrest of other members at different locations.
They are being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Asaba.
Among dangerous weapons recovered from the gang were battle axe, pump action, rifles, shot guns and AK 47 rifles.

Give Your Man Enough sex, No Girl Can Snatch Him – Says Aisha Falode

She is fondly called the First Lady of Sport Journalism. Aisha Falode, who now anchors a popular talk show that focuses on the home, sure knows how to do her things in the male-dominated industry. In a recent chat, she confessed that she now know better what men really want and that if she ever get married again, lady will be able to her man. Below is what she said:
There has been the argument over what really helps to keep the home. Is it food or sex?
See no pretences. If you talk to 10 men, 90.9 per cent of them, that is almost a 100 per cent, will tell you that what goes on in the bedroom is much more important than what is in the plate on the table. Talk to them. That is what they go after when they go after girlfriends. The girlfriends don’t cook for them. It is what they do with these men that take the men to them. Let’s don’t pretend as women.
image-201-300x267Be creative. ‘Daddy, it’s me and you tonight.’ Recreate that old time and they will enjoy it. Even when they are in the process of straying, they remember that my wife give me what I want. Even if they want to, they are held back because the woman is fantastic, and they are wondering why they are wasting their time with these small, small girls.
Forget about food. Although it is also important, those people they are going out to see are not cooking for them. That is the truth. Let’s be frank about it. Perhaps, if I was as matured as I am when I got married, I could keep my home. But I wasn’t mature. If I get a second chance today, God help the lady that will come and take my place. She will have to toil for it.

FA says Istanbul is 'front runner' for Euro 2020 semi-finals and final

Wembley Stadium

The Football Association believes Istanbul is the "front runner" to host the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020.
The governing body says the Turkish bid is the main rival to Wembley to stage the fixtures after 32 Uefa members expressed an interest in hosting games.
Istanbul lost out to Tokyo in its bid to host the 2020 Olympic Games.
"We've taken some soundings. There's a sympathy for Turkey and it does feel like they are the front-runners," said the FA's general secretary Alex Horne.

History of the Euros

Spain celebrate winning Euro 2012
  • First event in 1960 had four teams in the finals - 17 entered - and was won by the Soviet Union
  • Format of a four-team finals continued until 1976
  • Competition was expanded to eight teams in 1980
  • In 1996, when the tournament was held in England, 16 teams took part
  • The 2000 finals were the first to be hosted by two countries - Netherlands and Belgium
  • The 2016 finals will be hosted by France with 24 teams taking part
  • Winners are presented with the Henri Delaunay Trophy, named in honour of the first general secretary of Uefa, who had the idea of a European Championship
  • Spain are the current holders
"We get the politics around Istanbul, having not got the Olympics."
Uefa, the European football governing body, decided the tournament would not be staged in a single country but instead shared between 13 cities across Europe.
The decision to give Tokyo the 2020 Olympics may now clear the way for the city to host the finale of Euro 2020 given that Uefa's president, Michel Platini, is thought to retain his long-term support for the Turkish FA's ambitions.
Uefa is offering member countries the chance to bid for two packages of matches encompassing either group stage games and a knockout round match or the semi-finals and final.
The FA will now bid for both packages as will, BBC Sport understands, Belgium, Spain, Germany and Wales.
Turkey and Ukraine are believed to have bid only for the semi-finals and final, leaving 25 other nations, including Scotland, bidding solely for group stage and knock-out fixtures.
Horne, speaking as the FA announced its financial results for 2012, believes Wembley and London would benefit from the award of either option.
"The impact on the stadium and London of hosting either group stages and semi-final and final will be significant. It's something we want to be part of. So we've bid for both."
FA chairman Greg Dyke has targeted a semi-final place for England at the 2020 tournament and Horne believes hosting games would provide a boost should England qualify.
"The prize of group games and a quarter-final, or certainly a knock-out game, here at Wembley, is significant.
"You get two games with England at home which has got to be an advantage."
The FA's financial results reveal that turnover for the not-for-profit organisation in 2012 stood at £318m, down from £329m in 2011. Over 50% of total expenditure went towards investments in the national game, with £101m given in total, including £43m given directly to grassroots football projects.
Fabio Capello's departure as England manager in February 2012 is also accounted for in the financial statement. After Capello and his back-room staff left the England set-up the team remained without a manager until current boss Roy Hodgson was appointed shortly before Euro 2012.
While the terms of Capello's financial settlement remain confidential, Horne made clear that the Italian's departure had been managed: "We didn't pay Fabio any more than we would have done in the period that we didn't have a manager," he said.
"We paid him a small amount of money as severance but it was less than we'd have paid him if he stayed working until the Euros, significantly."
The £11m decrease in turnover, when compared to 2011, is largely due to Wembley Stadium, which is wholly owned by The FA, suffering a fall in event income.
The FA say this was due to a lower number of events held in 2012 when compared with 2011 when the stadium staged the Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona.
The London 2012 Olympics also meant the Community Shield had to be played at Villa Park.

DJ in Trouble After Requesting For Oral Sex on Air

dILY
A Cape Town radio DJ has admitted that he exposed his private parts and requested oral sex from a male colleague while the man was still on air.
Radio Zibonele presenter Zamile Mkontwana has been suspended from work and is due to appear before a disciplinary committee charged with indecent behaviour, sexual harassment at the workplace and interfering with station operations.
This is after the 34-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted his co-worker while the pair were in studio last Friday.
The station manager, Mzamo Ngomana, has confirmed Mkontwana’s suspension.
“He is due to appear before the disciplinary committee next week,” he says.
In an interview with the Daily Voice, Mkontwana claims he did not mean to frighten his co-worker.
He claims it was not a sex attack and that they had been intimate before.
“He was in the studio when I walked up to him and asked if he could do something for me,” he says.
“I asked him if he could suck me, he was on air at the time and did not answer. So I took out my thing [penis], took his hand and put it on my penis.
“When he was done reporting he looked at me and asked why I was doing that. I knew there was nobody there and I said ‘why not?’”
“I left for a few minutes to go to the kitchen and drink water, I came back, went to him and pulled him by his belt buckle and he said no.
“I could not understand because we had what I thought to be an understanding or a thing going on.
“This was not the first time this had happened, we had engaged in oral sex before in my office.
“I went to him later that day and apologised and thought that was the end of it.
“But later that day I was called into the boss’ office and suspended for misconduct.
“I was even more surprised to learn that a criminal case had been opened.”
Mkontwana’s victim, however, denies ever having any sexual relations with the accused.
By late Wednesday, police said they had yet to arrest Mkontwana

Wakini is expected in court also to answer to charges of drug trafficking and harboring a criminal. Peter will be charged with being in Kenya illegally.
Police found the Nigerian with a new passport that has no immigration stamp to show which border points he entered the country through. Kenyan immigration officers stamped “PI” on Peter’s previous passport, meaning “Prohibited Immigrant”.
