Tambuwal: God Bless The Police

Tambuwal: God Bless The Police
The news on the defection of the outgoing speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) has become a matter of national discuss in the past few days, with analysts and commentators jumping in to share a piece of their thoughts. The polity went upscale when the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) withdrew the security details attached to Hon. Tambuwal.
First, it is important that every patriotic Nigerian give kudos to Hon. Tambuwal for repositioning the House of Representatives as a stakeholder in the Nigeria project. He deserves resounding applause for his dogged and relentless efforts in taking the legislative arm away from the stranglehold of the executive and repositioning it as a symbol of authority as against the coalition of yes-men.

“Do or die politics” also the preserve of the President?

“Do or die politics” also the preserve of the President?
“President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday urged political office seekers to shun desperation, saying that their ambitions should never be ‘do or die’ in the interest of the nation… Jonathan also warned the leadership of the party at all levels against the imposition of candidates for various offices”. Vanguard 01 11 2014

Since one can never really be sure which media report to believe and what might constitutespreading falsehood, I again start with a quoted report from the Vanguard media credited to President Jonathan. Reading the report cited in the vanguard news link above, it is easy to spot a double speak from the president and one begins to wonder if he finds time to reflect on what he says and does if only to bridge the ever expanding gulf between his words and deeds. On the surface, his appeal to party members to shun desperation is a sign of statesmanship, a noble call from a well-meaning leader and an acknowledgement of the

In Scavengia With Boko and Blokos Haram

In Scavengia With Boko and Blokos Haram
Welcome to Scavengia.
Major cities - (1) Predatoria (commercial capital). (2)  Parasity (political capital).
Scavengia's national flag is a black rag. Black to signify a perpetual darkness that covers the land. Darkness that exists because this is what elite Scavengians prefer. They prefer darkness because under its cover, men and women can indulge all appetites without fear of being seen.
But all is not well in Scavengia.
For a number of years, people in the north-east have been terrorised by a group of men who call themselves 'boko haram'. But this is not the real reason why all is not well in Scavengia. While a part of the country has been under seige fom boko haram, the more insidious activities of blokos haram covers the entire geographical space.

FG Commended For Starting Job On Nkporo-Abiriba-Ohafia Road Project.I did Ohafia people Need Road?

Some traditional rulers in Abia have  expressed happiness over the commencement of the construction of the Nkporo-Abiriba-Ohafia Road in Abia to Osso Edda Road in Ebonyi by the Federal Government.
The rulers made the commendation in interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, when the Minister of Works, Mr Mike Onolememen, launched the commencement of the job at the Abia end of the road.
They expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for awarding the contract for the project and said its completion would alleviate the suffering of the people.
Eze Patrick Ogbuagu, the traditional ruler of Nkporo Autonomous Community, described the commencement of the work as ‘’an answer to many years of crying for the government to come to our aid’’.
Ogbuagu, who described his community as predominantly agrarian, said that the road would help farmers to transport their farm produce to other parts of the state.
He said it was regrettable that a lot of farm produce rotted away after every harvest because of the difficulties faced by farmers in transporting their produce.

APC: A Fine Sail, and to Nowhere

APC: A Fine Sail, and to Nowhere
Nothing ostensible is wrong with the idea of a formation of a new political party in a democratic state, but in Nigeria’s case the manner by which, and the condition under which political parties are formed left so much to be desired. This leaves some of our nation’s political parties as a fine sail without a clearly identified destination. In the manner some of the parties are formed, one cannot help but wonder what exactly the master minders had in mind for the country. Did it want it to be one nation, one people, a country in perpetual conflict with itself, a democracy, or a demo-theocracy, or what?
A closer look at Nigeria political parties’ development and experiments at governance since amalgamation reveals clear lack of vision and direction for the country. Over the years we have experiments with regionalism which National Council of Nigeria and Cameroon (NCNC) saw as crystallising disintegration. We have tried Unitarianism, federalism, civilian rule, military rule, parliamentary democracy, and presidential democracy, but none seems to

Is ohafia still what igbos think we are ? Udumeze, Ruler of Ohafia Reigns High in America.....2004

The Udumeze of Ohafia, His Royal Majesty Eze Onuoha Uma, ruler of the acclaimed mighty warriors of Igboland, today extended his reign to America, where two great Americans he had conferred with chieftaincy titles were ceremoniously presented with all the accountrements of their office. The ceremony was a most spectacular event. The event was held at the high-class Hilton Hotel on Avenue of the Americas and 54th Street in Manhattan, New York, befitting His Royal Majesty. Performing the Conferment Ceremony on behalf of the His Majesty Eze Uma was Chief Dr. Chika A. Onyeani, the Igwe I (Man of Steel) of Abam, and Akanagbajiegbe I (Pen is Mightier than the Sword) of Ohafia. Popularly called by his colleagues as the "Dean of the African Media in America," Onyeani is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Africa's number one newspaper in America, the African Sun Times, as well as the author of the controversial and spectacularly successful and No.1 bestselling book "Capitalist Nigger: The Road to Success," which is in its fourth printing.
