Death penalty for kidnapping: West-Idahosa, Agbaje, others divided over Oshiomole’s decision

oshiomoleA former member of the National Assembly, Mr Ehiogie West-Idahosa, has thrown his weight behind Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State for signing into law capital punishment for kidnappers in the state.
The former lawmaker who represented Ovia North-East and South-West Constituency in the House of Representatives, hailed the governor over his decision, noting that the law would only be successful if it was properly implemented by the appropriate security agencies.
“I am convinced that death penalty for kidnappers will definitely send the signal that the state is not ready to accept criminality,’’ West-Idahosa said.

UAE’s rising stars took time off from training Saturday to greet fans at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Fan Zone on Abu Dhabi Corniche. The U-17 team headed down to the Fan Zone to join the crowds for huge tournament celebrations just ahead of taking on three-time champions, Brazil, at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium today, 20 October 20 at 20:00.

Kelechi Iheanacho raced to the corner flag, the entire Nigerian team chasing after him. He raised and pumped his arms, extending his fingers to the heavens. His knees followed along in rhythm. He was conducting the crowd, a massive throng of fellow Nigerians, and they mimicked his movements. A whole stand at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain was doing this strange dance, in raptures over the Golden Eaglets’ first goal of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Named Xavier, the adorable child was born in a Nigerian hospital on October 1, 2013. The christening was attended by Pype's family including mother and friends. Reggae legend Majek Fashek was also in attendance as well as rapper Vector.
Pype and Zee are madly in love and have plans to tie the knot sometime soon, a source told NET.
