Nigerian producers hate me - Emeka Ike

Image: Facebook

Nollywood actor Emeka Ike is back, not on the screen, but with another allegation that Nigerian Producers hate him for speaking the truth.
In an interview with Nigerianfilms in Lagos, the controversial actor stated that he can’t get movie roles because he stands against sexual harassment in the industry.
We got part of the interview word for word, so please take a read:
“If you knock at their office and you can’t sleep with them, you won’t be allowed to act. Is it fair to tell a girl that 'if I don’t sleep with you, you won’t get my favor '?
"If God does that to us, where would we be today? This situation is a general norm. Ask the smallest artiste about my position on the situation.
"I have stopped productions several times because of (sexual harassment). That’s why sometimes they have issues with me."

Plateau attack leaves 11 villagers dead

The Special Task Force (STF) maintaining peace in Plateau, has confirmed the death of 11 people during an attack by cow thieves at Pandadi Village in the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau on Thursday.
The STF Commander, Maj.-Gen. David Enetie, who confirmed the incident in Jos, also confirmed the killing of five of the attackers by the STF.
Enetie said that the cattle rustlers, who attacked the village in the morning, killed eight members of one family and two others while a neighbour, who came out to assist the victims, was also killed.
He disclosed that STF operatives, who rushed to the scene of the incident, killed five of the suspected cattle rustlers.

Popular attractions in Owerri

Owerri, the capital city of ‘the Eastern Heartland’, Imo State, and the acclaimed ‘entertainment capital of Nigeria’, is one such city that is full of life and colour. It’s a place to catch all the fun one could ever need and its people are friendly and very accommodating. In fact they seem to ‘love strangers more than themselves’ – and protect them too.
Owerri has a reputation of being very busy at nights, especially on weekends, as people from all around Nigeria, especially other Easterners, go there to enjoy the weekend. Popular opinion holds that any stranger entering Owerri on a Friday night will not get accommodation as hotels will already be full to the brim – notwithstanding the fact that there are hundreds of hotels in Owerri.
The influx of visitors into the city of Owerri is made possible by virtue of its location; Imo state is situated in the midst of other Eastern Nigerian states, bordered by states like Rivers, Abia, Delta and Anambra, thus the reason for its slogan; ‘the Eastern Heartland’.
Another factor is the position of Owerri as the capital city of Imo State, plus the fact that there are only other few cities in the whole of Imo; Orlu, Okigwe and Ngor-Okpala, none as big as Owerri. Almost every major establishment can therefore be found in Owerri, little wonder Owerri is an expensive city to live in.
Other than the position and status of the city, the major thing that attracts others to Owerri is the lifestyle. Owerri people are widely believed to be among the most fun and lively in Nigeria. They are friendly and warm.
Other attractions are seen in things like the environment, the business potential, the beautiful women and the food. Owerri also has few notable tourist attractions.
Environment
Owerri is known for its beautiful environment that also has great weather. The tall buildings and malls, companies, city churches, schools, clubs and colourful hotels that line and adorn the major roads, and the streets, make for good sight-seeing. The main roads are clean and neatly tarred, and the residential houses are in well-organized arrangements.
Stephen Olayinka, a member of the outgoing 2012/2013 Batch C National Youth Service Corps, Imo State – originally based in Lagos State – had this to say about Owerri.
"I initially had the desire to serve in the East, but when I eventually got here, I was blown by the things I saw, especially the fleet of hotels in the city of Owerri. Judging by the fact that I’ve had the opportunity of visiting many local governments in Imo State, they really are nothing compared to Owerri – especially the sights you see."

Rihanna gets Maori tattoo hammered onto hand

Rihanna got a traditional Maori design inked onto her right hand using only chisel and a mallet at Moko Ink studios in New Zealand.
Rihanna's new tattoo was etched onto her hand with a hammer.
The 'Pour It Up' singer chose to mark her recent trip to New Zealand by getting a traditional Maori design inked onto her right hand using the excruciatingly painful yet traditional Ta Moko method.
A two-minute video has been posted online of Rihanna getting the arrow-shaped symbols - which run from her fingertips all the way to her forearm - inked onto her skin by tattoo artist Inia Taylor at the Moko Ink studio in West Auckland, who uses only a chisel, a mallet and ink pigment.
A statement on the Moko Ink website reads: ''Moko Ink is the worlds first Maori Tattoo Studio specialising in the contemporary use and creation of traditional Maori and Polynesian Tatu.
''We make one off body art keeping alive the language and traditions that are unique to the art form. All our art is custom designed for each person on a consultation basis.
''The language of Ta Moko is used to design a unique piece of body art expressing aspects that relate to the wearer.''
