Floyd Mayweather’s career earnings to hit $350 million with Canelo fight

Floyd Mayweather puts his legacy and undefeated record on the line Saturday night when he steps into the ring against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
Mayweather will receive a record guarantee of $41.5 million (Canelo is due $5 million) and is in line for a total payout millions more after all of the pay-per-view receipts are counted and “Money” Mayweather takes his cut.
In a 17-year career full of monster paydays, it will be the biggest one yet, topping the $45 million, including his share of PPV revenue, for fighting Miguel Cotto in 2012. Mayweather’s cumulative earnings will likely hit $350 million with the Canelo fight. Mayweather’s take from the Canelo fight will ultimately be based on the final PPV count.

Mayweather Promotions chief Leonard Ellerbe thinks May weather could rake in as much as $100 million from the fight, which would likely require at least three million buys. It’s an optimistic tally, but if Mayweather nets $70 million from the fight, it will push his career earnings to $350 million. Mayweather is far from done making money with this fight. He has four fights remaining after Canelo on the six-fight deal he signed with Showtime in February.
Mayweather is likely looking at more than $150 million from those bouts which would make him the half-a-billion dollar man

Eriksen: I'm no match for Ozil

Tottenham new-boy Christian Eriksen wants to emulate Arsenal's Mesut Ozil

Tottenham new-boy Christian Eriksen has played down comparisons with Arsenal's record-breaking midfielder, Mesut Ozil.
Eriksen, who joined Spurs for £11.5 million from Ajax, played a starring role on his Tottenham debut and has drawn comparisons to his north London rival, who was equally as influential for Arsene Wenger's side.
Ozil stole the show and played a key role as Arsenal secured a 3-1 away win over Sunderland, teeing up Olivier Giroud for the Gunners opener.

But Eriksen believes Ozil - who won La Liga and starred at the 2010 World Cup - is a player he looks up to and aspires to emulate.
In an interview with the Mirror, Eriksen said of the 24-year-old: "I think Ozil has achieved a little bit more than me! I am a few years younger and still have to learn a lot but it is nice to be compared.
"Some players are booed in the first games and then are good.
"Hopefully the fans will not do that to me! But there will be mistakes. I am 21, but I hope I will make as few mistakes as possible."
He then joked: "From what I have heard, it is not good to be compared with Arsenal players! But really, it is pretty cool to be compared with such big players."
Despite only arriving at Tottenham recently, the Denmark international is well aware of the fierce rivalry between Spurs and Arsenal - and Eriksen has already targeted finishing ahead of Wenger's men.
He said: "We will have to turn that around for a start. I also come from a club where the rivalry was very big, with Feyenoord.
"I wasn’t there when they Spurs] played Arsenal two weeks ago but I am excited about the home game."
The 2-0 win over Norwich on Saturday means Tottenham have taken nine points from 12 available.
Asked to assess their title chances, Eriksen went on: "Really good. It looks really good. It is different.
"We are in a new squad and still have to learn about everything and everybody, but like I said before, we have had a good beginning and it is pretty easy to play with such good players."
Andre Villas-Boas' side will be looking to keep their good run of league form going when they visit Cardiff City on September 22.

Despite having issue’s her late husband’s family, Joy Ajanaku is on great terms with members of the church her husband left behind. The ministry’s board agreed to install her as their new leader and said the late prophet anointed her as the chosen one before his death. They also said they have a wedding certificate to prove that she was truly married to their late spiritual leader. Joy and some members of the church are getting ready to take late Ajanaku’s family to court over his estate.
