Olamide, Iyanya win big at Nigeria entertainment awards in New York (photos)

The 8th Edition of Nigeria Entertainment Awards which is about showcasing Nigeria’s upcoming and established artists to the African community in the US held last night in New York.
Iyanya won Hottest Single Of The Year – Kukere – while Olamide and Phyno  also won awards too!

Girl swallows her phone to keep her boyfriend from reading her texts

A Spanish website Yipeta.com is reporting that a 19-year-old woman from Brazil – Adriana Andrade – in a bid to keep her boyfriend Renato from reading the text messages on her cellphone, did the most incredible by swallowing her phone.
She had to undergo an operation to get the cellphone removed.

8-year-old bride dies from injuries after wedding night sex with 40-year-old husband



An eight year old bride, Rawan, in Yemen died from internal injuries on her wedding night, bleeding to death after deep vaginal tearing caused by sex with her 40 year old husband.
She died in Hardh in the governorate of Hajjah in northwestern Yemen, according to a report issued by UPI on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Yemeni activists urged the local police to arrest the “beastly groom” and the girl’s family and transfer them to a court where justice would be served and the case would be used to help put an end to the practice of marrying very young girls in the impoverished country, the daily said.
In Kuwait, bloggers offered their prayers for the “bride”, but lashed out at the “groom”, saying that he was a beast who should be severely punished.
May her soul rest in peace.

Limpopo singer Kcee in a recent interview cleared the air on his love affair with Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo; he also addressed the ongoing rumour on his failed marriage.

Can you clear the air on your marital status and the alleged affair you had with actress, Ebube Nwagbo?
Most times, I don’t like talking about marriage because it is a private issue. But to clear the air, I never said I was married or not. The person that did the interview made a mistake. They asked a simple question about a wedding in Lekki some years back and I told them it was not my wedding, it was E-Money’s wedding.
Were you dating Ebube at the time?
Yes.
Were you married at the time?
(Giggles) I don’t want to talk about it; I think we should move on

Last night, Iyanya Mbuk was spotted at 4-star hotel The Intercontinental Buckhead in Atlanta with R&B legend R. Kelly, it appears they were hanging out together!
They might just be working on a mix soon.

Plateau unrest: Four more persons killed, two villages razed in Langtang South LGA


Despite the relative peace been witnessed lately in Plateau State, four persons were said to have been killed on Sunday night, September 8, during an attack on two villages in Langtang South Local Government Area, Southern Senatorial District of Plateau State by some unknown gunmen.
Dailypost gathered that two of the villages attacked were Karkashi and Barrac. Report says the villages were completely raised by the attacker, who
were said to have invaded both villages through Yemani, in Shendam Local Government Area.
A source also revealed that the attackers stormed the two villages simultaneously with sophisticated weapons, shooting at any person on sight.
The source added that four people were killed during the attack, while a large number of those living in the villages have fled for safety.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Taroh community in Wase Local Government Area, Jungle Luhdut said,” four people were killed while the
two villages have been completely burnt down with no single house left standing”
“After carrying out their dastardly act, they bolted away through Taraba State.
He added that, the casualty figure of injured persons remained very high.
When the Spokesman of the STF, Captain Salisu Mustapha was contacted, he said he would get across to the Sector Commander in Langtang South
before he commenting on the incident.
As at the time of filing this report, he was yet to make comments

There are no godfathers in APC – El-Rufai



El-Rufai1The Protem National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-rufai, on Saturday stated that godfatherism does not and will not exist in the party.
El-Rufai, who represented the Protem National Chairman of the APC, Bisi Akande, at a national conference organised by the Movement for a Better Future in Kaduna said, “Nobody will take the APC and put it in his pocket. We will have no godfathers in this party. All those who want to be godfathers should go to the PDP.”
The former Minister of the FCT explained that the party had issued guidelines to set up a Harmonious Committee in the 36 states of the federation which will accommodate the three parties that make up the APC.
He appealed to members to stop giving the impression that leaders had been selected for the party at various states, since leaders had not emerged yet.
His word; “The national executive has issued guidelines for the setting up of harmonization committees in the various states.
“The harmonization committees are not caretaker or interim committees, but just harmonization committee. The objective is to ensure the fusion of the three parties into one political party.
“They are to ensure that meetings take place at all levels. By next week, we hope to finish work on the harmonization committee for them to start work right away, ” he said
Speaking on the theme, ‘Nigeria: The New Vision,’ a former governor of Kano State and member of the merger committee of the All Progressive Party, Ibrahim Shekarau decried the security situation in the country, saying the PDP-led government was a “total failure.”
He noted that the only answer to government failure was to get the right people on the front-seat of governance in the next political dispensation.
